Throughout the day (May 1, 2026), two significant medical emergency incidents were reported across the country, which were treated by Magen David Adom (MDA) teams.

Man in critical condition at Poleg Beach

Hot News reported that at approximately 08:08, a report was received regarding a man pulled from the water at Poleg Beach while unconscious. Later, News Line updated that it involved an 87-year-old man who was evacuated to Laniado Hospital in critical condition.

MDA teams, including paramedics Lior Danino, Avi Weinberger, and Yonatan Sitbon, described the prolonged treatment provided in the field: "We provided him with life-saving medical treatment that included prolonged resuscitation efforts and the administration of an electric shock using a defibrillator, and we evacuated him to the hospital in critical condition while fighting for his life".

Paragliding accident near Sapir

Simultaneously, Hot News reported on another incident in the Negev region, where a man in his 50s was injured after his paraglider became entangled in power lines near the community of Sapir. The injured man suffered from trauma and signs of electrocution.

MDA paramedic Gilad Dotan described the complex rescue operations: ["We saw a man in his 50s stuck on the power lines, conscious... together with the firefighting forces, I went up with them on a crane and provided medical treatment to the paraglider while he was trapped"]. The injured man was evacuated by an MDA-Hatzala Air helicopter to Soroka Hospital, with his condition defined as moderate.
