Iran warns against attempts to impose a naval blockade in the Gulf region
Iranian President, Masoud Pezeshkian, spoke out today (April 30, 2026) against international efforts to impose maritime restrictions in the Persian Gulf. According to reports from the Telegram channel 🔞 Israel News | Uncensored, the Iranian president claimed that "our enemies are using the strategy of a naval blockade and imposing restrictions on maritime trade routes as a new pressure tool," and added that any such attempt is "doomed to failure" and contradicts international law.
On the Kan 11 channel | Arab-Palestinian desk, known for its coverage emphasizing the political complexity of the region, it was noted that Pezeshkian emphasized that "the Gulf is not an arena for imposing unilateral foreign desires," and that in his view, the security of the maritime space can only be ensured through close cooperation between the countries of the region, without external involvement.
At the same time, the News Arena channel published additional highlights from the Iranian president's remarks. According to the report, Pezeshkian pledged that Iran will continue to maintain the security of regional waters and the Strait of Hormuz, while maintaining "freedom of navigation for all countries," with a significant caveat: this freedom does not apply to "hostile countries."
