Security tension in the Western Galilee: UAVs infiltrated from Lebanon
This morning (April 30, 2026), a significant series of alerts were reported in the Western Galilee following concerns regarding the infiltration of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and fire from Lebanon. According to Zirat HaHadashot, alerts were activated in several locations along the sector simultaneously with widespread security concerns.
According to a report by Hadashot MeHaShetach on Telegram (a channel that presents a critical position toward the government), the incident involved the infiltration of two UAVs. According to the report, "one exploded on a vehicle" in the area, while the second aircraft had not yet been located as of the afternoon hours. The channel later updated that the immediate event had come to an end.
Additional alerts were felt in various communities in the Galilee, including in the community of Zar'it. Almog Boker Updates confirmed the activation of sirens in Zar'it, while other channels, including Rega Hadashot - Army and Security and Kol HaHadashot on Telegram (which adopt a line supporting official security policy), emphasized that these were alerts intended to protect residents from "fear of UAV infiltration."
The security situation in the north remains tense, with residents of the Western Galilee instructed to remain near protected spaces. As of now, the IDF continues to conduct searches and handle the incident, with no official details yet provided regarding further casualties or the exact origin of the UAV that has not yet been located.
