New Appointment in the National Public Diplomacy Directorate
Head of the National Public Diplomacy Directorate, Tzipi Hotovely, announced today the appointment of Doron Spielman as the International Spokesperson for the directorate. Spielman, who has over two decades of experience in the field of strategic communications and national security, served as a reserve officer with the rank of Major in the IDF Spokesperson's Unit, where he worked in foreign media, according to NTD Hebrew News.
In his previous roles, Spielman served as Vice President of the "City of David" organization and led international partnerships. He is considered an expert in formulating messages that emphasize the historical roots of the Jewish people, a topic he also addressed in his bestseller "When the Stones Speak". Ariel Kahana described the appointment as "exceptional" and noted that Spielman is a graduate of the Churchill Program for Statecraft and National Security.
Alongside the official announcement, claims have been raised among other candidates for the position. According to ynet news, some of the contestants claimed that the appointment was "pre-determined".
Tzipi Hotovely welcomed Spielman's arrival and noted that: "Doron brings with him rich experience in the international arena, a deep understanding of the State of Israel's public diplomacy challenges, and a proven ability to present the Israeli narrative," as reported on NTD. Dafna Liel highlighted in her report Spielman's professional background as a strategic communications and media consultant in recent years.
