Iran threatens a military response after attacks in Lebanon

Senior officials in Tehran have conveyed threatening messages following the IDF attack on targets in the Dahiyeh district of Beirut. Mohammad-Baqer Zolqadr, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council in Iran, declared that "the response of the Islamic warriors is on the way," and added that "Lebanon is our soul." According to his statements, as reported by Iran International, Iran will not tolerate a violation of its "red lines."

Zolqadr emphasized the principle of "Unity of Fields," which he claims has created a "security chain" to defend the region. The message was widely distributed across dozens of Telegram channels affiliated with the regime, including خبرفوری, سپاه پاسداران, and the official news agency ایرنا.

At the same time, Ebrahim Azizi, Chairman of the National Security Committee in the Iranian Parliament, sharply attacked the United States. In a post he published on the X network, Azizi called the attack in Lebanon a "crime" and claimed that the US is "weak and unreliable" because it is unable to restrain Israel. Azizi emphasized that a response from the "unified Resistance Front" is an inevitable step.

While institutional and pro-regime channels highlighted Tehran's determination, the opposition channel Iran International provided coverage that placed the officials' words in the context of the broader regional tension. Conversely, channels identified with the Iranian opposition inside the country, such as اخبار اعتراضات ایران-اصفهان, presented the statements with mockery, referring to Zolqadr as one of "Khamenei's remnants."
