The Deputy Minister of Education for Physical Education and Health stated that after ten months of comprehensive research, it was determined that the average sports area per student currently stands at only 0.48 square meters.

As part of Iran's Seventh Development Plan, the government has set a target according to a report on SNN.ir to reach a "rate of one square meter" per person. However, officials in the Ministry of Education admitted that even this target remains below accepted international standards and that significant additional investment is required to improve the situation.
