New diplomatic contacts between Iran and the US: Focus on compensation and evacuation of forces

According to reports on Iran International, an Iranian opposition channel identified with sharp criticism of the regime in Tehran, Ismail Kowsari, a member of the National Security Committee in the Iranian Parliament, stated that "the nuclear file has been removed from the negotiating table with the US". According to Kowsari, the current diplomatic focus of the Islamic Republic has shifted to issues of preventing future war, paying compensation to Iran, a full withdrawal of American forces from the region, and lifting the naval blockade.

According to these reports, Kowsari clarified that contacts to stop the fighting are indeed taking place, but emphasized cynically that the Iranian side is aware that "we will not reach results" at the end of this process.

In addition, Kowsari claimed that this is a strategic achievement for Tehran, noting that "many countries have already accepted Iran's control over the strait", referring to the strategic shipping routes in the Persian Gulf.
