The Public Security Police in Tehran announced today, May 31, 2026, the closure of a prominent cafe on Vali-e Asr Street. According to reports in state media such as IRNA News Agency and Daneshjoo News Agency (SNN), the establishment was shut down due to reports of "activities promoting deviant cults" and hosting events with the "appearance of Western music."
Law enforcement officials claimed that the customers, mostly young people, were documented in "unnatural states and strange movements" described by the police as "satanic movements." Officials, including Akharin Khabar, emphasized that the owners of the establishment not only failed to prevent the activity but also assisted in creating a "platform for inappropriate behavior" while aware of the young age of some of the customers.
