The authorities in Iran have announced a broad measure for energy conservation in light of concerns over heavy heat waves. In addition to limiting presence hours, strict measures for electricity savings were decided upon. Institutions of higher education have begun to implement the guidelines in accordance with local constraints. Azad University in Alborz announced that starting May 29 and until September 15, 2026, the administrative operating hours of the university will be updated to the range between 08:00 and 14:00, this with the goal of "effectively managing energy consumption during the heat season."
