[69508] Reports of progress in indirect contacts between Iran and the United States mediated by Pakistan
Development in political contacts between Tehran and Washington
According to reports in Iranian media, led by the ISNA news agency and cited by Telegram channels such as خبر فوری جنگ ایران and آخرین خبر, Iran is currently working on formulating a response to a new proposal document submitted by the United States via a Pakistani mediator. The document includes references to a "comprehensive framework, details, and confidence-building measures as guarantees."
Sources close to the negotiation team noted, as published in اخبارفوری خبرفوری جنگ امریکا فوری, that the American proposal came following a 14-point document submitted by Iran three days ago. According to reports, the current text has succeeded in narrowing some of the gaps, although the sources emphasized that "narrowing the gaps requires an end to Washington's war provocations" according to the announcement by خبر فوری جنگ ایران.
At the same time, extensive diplomatic activity has been reported in connection with the expected visit of the Pakistani Army Chief, General Asim Munir, to Tehran. According to آخرین خبر, Pakistani sources reporting to Al Jazeera noted that the General has not yet departed and his arrival depends on the results of the Pakistani Interior Minister's visit to the Iranian capital. Concurrently, a source close to the negotiations noted that the central issue remaining in dispute is uranium enrichment.
While channels identified with the Iranian establishment focus on the possibility of an agreement, other entities such as پیام ایران, which present a more critical stance toward the regime, note that the contacts are still in the examination stages and that no final agreement or signing of any memorandum of understanding has yet been formulated.
