The Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution in Iran has issued new guidelines regarding registration eligibility for special teacher training entrance exams (student-teachers). According to reports, it has been decided that only candidates born on or after September 23, 1996 (the first of Mehr 1375 according to the Persian calendar) will be eligible to apply.
The report regarding the change was circulated simultaneously by several media outlets in Iran:
- آخرین خبر, identified with the state editorial line, emphasized that according to the decision of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, "those born from the first of Mehr 1375 and onwards can participate in the designated exam for accepting student-teachers."
- خراسان آنلاین and SNN.ir|خبرگزاری دانشجو also confirmed the data, with the student agency SNN often adopting a line identified with the conservative and activist wing among students in Iran.
The decision is part of the process of standardizing personnel in the Iranian education system and redefines the permitted age range for entering the state's official teacher training track.
