[67979] Iraq denies reports on the existence of Israeli bases in the country again
The Iraqi Ministry of Interior has once again strongly denied the claims regarding the presence of bases belonging to foreign countries, primarily Israel, on the country's territory.
Baghdad responds to reports: There are no Israeli bases in Iraq
The Iraqi Ministry of Interior issued an official statement in which it denies again the reports regarding the presence of Israeli bases on Iraqi soil. The clarification comes against the background of growing regional tensions and reports in the regional media.
According to the channel خبر فوری جنگ ایران, which is associated with critical positions regarding foreign activity in the region, sources in the Iraqi Ministry of Interior stated that: "In addition, there is no camp in Iraq belonging to another country".
The ministry's announcement also referred to military activity that was carried out recently, and noted that all operations that took place were part of an operational effort limited in time, as quoted in a report by خبر فوری جنگ ایران: "Everything that happened was an activity that lasted 48 hours during the war against Iran".
The report was also distributed by the channel آخرین خبر, which is a central media outlet in Iran that presents a narrative adopting the official position in Tehran. This denial constitutes another attempt by Baghdad to defuse tensions surrounding claims of Israeli or Western presence that could pose a threat to Iran and its allies in the region.
