Surge in Demand for Higher Education in Iran: 165,000 Registered for Entrance Exams

Over the last day, media outlets in Iran, including خبر فوری جنگ ایران and آخرین خبر, reported impressive opening figures for the registration for the 1405 (2026) university entrance exams. According to a report by the news agency SNN.ir, more than 165,000 candidates completed the registration process in the first two days alone.

The registration includes the national psychometric exam as well as dedicated admission paths for teaching studies at teacher-training universities («دانشگاه‌های فرهنگیان»). As noted in a report by the official Iranian news agency IRNA, registration opened on May 27 (27 Ordibehesht) and will continue until June 2 (2 Khordad) through the National Assessment Organization's website.

At the same time, the Assessment Organization (IRNA) published technical updates including corrections to the registration booklet for associate degree (Kardani) tracks at higher education institutions and national technical colleges. Iranian education authorities have not yet published an official date for the actual exams, stating that an update will be released later based on conditions on the ground.
