In a series of statements published on May 10, 2026, Iran's ambassador to China, Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli, emphasized Tehran's desire for deeper involvement from Beijing and Moscow as guarantors for any future international agreement. According to a report by Iran International, the ambassador stated that "any potential agreement must be accompanied by guarantees from the major powers," adding that Beijing could take on this role.
The ambassador emphasized that alongside the guarantee from China and Russia, according to a report by Fars News, which functions as a news agency affiliated with the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, any agreement must undergo "anchoring and approval in the UN Security Council." This position reflects a recurring Iranian demand for legal and international protections to prevent future deterioration into hostile relations.
In parallel reports by Akharin Khabar, it was noted that Iran is seeking assurances that will prevent the world from "imposing a war on Iran" in the future. Conversely, other media outlets such as Khabarfoori, Khabari Plus, and Akharin Twiit echoed Rahmani Fazli's words, focusing on China's power as one that holds a special status in the eyes of Iran and regional countries.
