A Twitter user has stated that they use earnings generated from the platform to purchase equipment and technological infrastructure for residents in Iran.
Twitter content creator reports using social network profits for aid in Iran
In a series of tweets posted on May 6, 2026, justchangingun revealed to their followers that they receive payment from Twitter for engagement (likes and retweets) on the content they post. The creator, who describes themselves as not being a blogger in the professional sense, noted that they see it as appropriate to be transparent regarding their sources of funding.
According to justchangingun, these revenues are used to purchase "configurations" (technical means for network access) for users inside Iran. According to them, in the past, they used to send this type of aid to populations affected by various events in the country as well.
This statement received a response from user aghaiisara257, who expressed support for the move and wrote: "نوش جون شما و هر کسی بهش کمک میکنی" (loosely translated: "Good for you and everyone you help").
The case reflects how Twitter's monetization model allows independent creators to channel funds into focused philanthropic or activist activities, in this case – bypassing internet restrictions in Iran.
