[49731] Iranian Member of Parliament threatens the UAE with 'returning to camel riding'
Sharp Iranian threat towards the United Arab Emirates
During an unusual and controversial statement, Ali Khazraian, a member of the National Security Committee in the Iranian Parliament, sharply attacked the United Arab Emirates. According to reports on the Iran International channel, which is affiliated with the Iranian exiled opposition and is highly critical of the regime in Tehran, Khazraian called the Emiratis "rootless people."
Khazraian threatened that if the UAE continues its cooperation with Israel and the United States, which he defines as "aggression" against the Islamic Republic, then "the effects of technology will be wiped from their lives" and they will "return to camel riding." As reported by Hut News, the Member of Parliament added cynically that "it will not be a problem for the residents of the Emirates, as they are used to such a lifestyle."
The remarks also resonated in channels close to the establishment and supporters of the President, such as Hamian Pezeshkian, which echoed the verbal threat as part of the official anti-Western line. It is evident that these messages are intended to exert political pressure on the Arab countries in the region that maintain relations with Israel under the Abraham Accords and regional security partnerships.
