[47390] Wave of demonstrations by the Iranian community in major cities around the world against executions
Massive demonstrations by the Iranian diaspora in major cities around the world
On Saturday, May 2, 2026, members of the Iranian community around the world held a series of protest demonstrations against Tehran's domestic policies. According to reports from Iran International, an opposition media outlet identified with opponents of the regime, the demonstrations took place in cities such as London and Berlin, under the banner of supporting the "national revolution" and calling for a halt to the executions of protesters and political activists, with an emphasis on those detained from the recent protests.
Similarly, the Epoch Times Persian network, which reports from a highly critical perspective toward the Iranian regime, detailed that the centers of protest included London, Manchester, Stockholm, Düsseldorf, Helsinki, and even cities in Australia and New Zealand. According to the report, the protesters expressed open support for Prince Reza Pahlavi and demanded that the international community act decisively against the regime.
During the demonstration in London, protesters also referred to the security situation in the UK. According to Iran International, a participant in the demonstration expressed solidarity with the Jewish community in the UK following a "terrorist attack" that occurred recently, and called on the British government to take practical steps against similar threats. In the same breath, the protesters in London demanded, according to another report by the network, that the British government officially declare the Revolutionary Guards a terrorist organization and expel Iranian diplomats from its territory.
Opposition sources emphasize that the current wave of protests comes against the backdrop of claims of an intensification in executions within Iran, which Epoch Times Persian attributes to the use of charges of "espionage for Israel" and "Moharebeh" (war against God), this in parallel with reports of internet outages initiated by the authorities inside the country.
