Strengthening Security Ties Between Israel and the UAE

According to a report by the Financial Times cited by numerous media outlets, Israel has transferred advanced air defense systems to the United Arab Emirates against the backdrop of regional tensions with Iran and its proxies. According to Iran International, this is one of the most significant security collaborations revealed between the two countries.

The systems transferred include the lightweight detection system "Spectro," capable of identifying unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) from a range of up to 20 kilometers, as well as a version of the laser interception system known, according to Fars News Int, as "Magen Or" (Iron Beam). These media outlets, which are identified with opposing narratives—the former critical of the Iranian regime and the latter identified with media bodies inside Iran—confirm the fact of the transfer, although Iranian sources emphasize the fact that this is "experimental equipment" and involves the presence of Israeli forces on UAE soil.

In addition to equipment, DW Persian reports that dozens of Israeli military personnel have been sent to the UAE to operate the systems, which join "Iron Dome" batteries that were already transferred to the country. According to Akhbarin Khabar, the move was carried out "quietly and urgently" during the recent waves of Iranian attacks.

Simultaneously, the channel شب‌نامه reports on a wider escalation in the region, including warnings from the UAE to its citizens to immediately leave Iran, Iraq, and Lebanon. The channel notes that according to reports on Israel's Channel 12, the Trump administration in the US may allow Israel to strike Iranian energy infrastructure if negotiations fail, this in parallel to data indicating broad public support in Israel for renewing military activity in Lebanon.
