Unprecedented aerial attack

During the last 24 hours (May 1-2, 2026), Ukraine faced a massive Russian air attack that included the launch of 409 drones (including "Shahed," "Gerbera," and "Italmas" models). Air defense systems intercepted 388 of them, but hits were recorded in 16 different locations.

• Hit locations: In the city of Ternopil, industrial facilities were hit, leaving ten injured and parts of the city without electricity. In Odesa, apartments in residential buildings were destroyed, and five people were injured. In Kharkiv, gas stations were hit, and significant activity was also recorded in the skies over Dnipro and Boryspil.


• Strategic threat: In addition to the "drone storm," the takeoff of Russian strategic bombers (Tu-160 and Tu-95MS) was identified, which raised the alert level to the maximum. Ultimately, the planes landed without launching missiles.


• Ukraine's response: In response, Ukrainian forces successfully attacked oil refineries deep inside Russia (Tuapse and Perm) and caused massive fires at the oil facilities. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the damage to energy infrastructure and called for increased international pressure.

Political storm: The "Mindich tapes" affair

A series of investigations by "Ukrainska Pravda" revealed recordings that are causing a stir in the Ukrainian political system. According to the investigation, the Vasyl brothers, who are close to Andriy Yermak (former Head of the Office of the President), allegedly exploited political connections to take control of nationalized assets, most notably "Sense Bank" and the "Karpatnaftochim" plant. Members of parliament and figures in the President's circle denied the allegations and claimed it was a manipulation intended to harm the administration during wartime.

• Kyiv: Police arrested a 46-year-old man who fired at a car carrying a mother and her daughter. There were no casualties, and the background of the act is under investigation.


• Rivne: A deserter soldier was arrested after barricading himself in a basement and firing an automatic weapon (AK-12) at representatives of the recruitment office and a police officer.


• Odesa: An army officer who recently returned from Russian captivity was attacked on the street by masked individuals in uniform.

• Vandalism in Lviv: Lviv police arrested three 18-year-olds from the Mykolaiv region who stole the memorial plaque of the first president of Chechnya, Dzhokhar Dudayev. The plaque had been placed in the city just ten days earlier as a symbol of the struggle against Russia.


• Medical miracle: Medical teams in Kyiv successfully extracted 17 magnets from the stomach of a 5-year-old girl, an incident that received widespread coverage in local media regarding the health dangers of such products.


• End of an era in entertainment: The musical duo and famous couple Potap and Nastya Kamensky officially announced their divorce after seven years of formal marriage and two decades of joint professional activity.
