Intense clashes in southern Lebanon: Hezbollah reports thwarting an Israeli maneuvering attempt

During Friday, June 19, 2026, Islamic Resistance Military Media and Military Media - News Coverage channels reported on a series of intense battles in the Kafr Tebnit - Ali al-Taher sector. According to an official statement published by the Hezbollah organization, the organization's fighters identified an IDF force composed of armor and infantry that attempted to perform a maneuver toward the northern side of the Ali al-Taher hill.

According to the Islamic Resistance, the Israeli force was drawn into a "killing zone" (منطقة المقتل), where it was attacked using guided missiles. The organization declares that its forces succeeded in "destroying three Merkava tanks and causing them to burn." The sources note that the reports come as part of what is termed by the organization as "Ashura operations" and "Eaten Straw battle," and that the exchanges of fire continued even after the initial announcement was released.

At the same time, channels identified with the Resistance Axis, such as Al-Mayadeen network, reported that the fighters are using heavy rocket barrages and artillery shells to repel the IDF's advancement attempts. The 'Southern Lebanon - Rased al-Ado' channel emphasized that the area remains "impenetrable to enemy infiltration," while using religious-militant language describing the events as "Karbalai epics" of homeland defense.

Additional media channels, among them Quds Network and 'Nahj al-Muqawama' channel, confirmed the description of the events and added that it is a direct response to what they call "the violation of the ceasefire by the Israeli enemy." As of now, no official confirmation has been received from the Israeli side regarding these events.
