Escalation in Southern Lebanon: Wave of Israeli Strikes in the Tyre and Nabatieh Districts
Throughout the day (May 15, 2026), a widespread wave of Israeli military operations was reported in Southern Lebanon. Al-Mayadeen Channel (affiliated with the Axis of Resistance) reported a series of airstrikes that included a strike on a vehicle in the city of Nabatieh, as well as strikes in the town of Kfarman, the Shabriha area north of Tyre, and the surroundings of the city of Tyre itself. In addition, according to Al-Mayadeen, five airstrikes were reported in the area of the city of Tyre.
Simultaneously, Al-Mayadeen as well as the Shehab Agency (affiliated with Hamas) reported that Israeli artillery intensively shelled the towns of Al-Haniyeh, Al-Qulaylah, and Al-Amariyah in the Tyre district. Al-Mayadeen Channel noted that artillery fire was also directed towards the towns of Zoutar El-Sharqiyah, Arnoun, and Yahmar in the Nabatieh district, as well as the area between the towns of Al-Ghandouriyeh and Frun.
Additional reports from Al-Mayadeen Channel and Beirut Time Channel highlighted targeted strikes in the towns of Frun, Debaal, and Kfar Tebnit. Media outlets in Lebanon defined the actions as "aggression by the occupation," using language emphasizing the nature of the operation as an attack on Lebanese sovereignty and harm to residential areas.
