[55860] Extensive wave of IDF strikes in southern Lebanon: Reports of dead and wounded
Arab media outlets report an intensive day of fighting in southern Lebanon, including dozens of IDF airstrikes and artillery barrages in the Nabatieh district and other areas, with reports of casualties.
Escalation in southern Lebanon: A sequence of Israeli strikes in the Nabatieh district
Throughout the day (May 11, 2026), an extensive wave of Israeli Air Force and artillery strikes was reported in numerous locations in southern Lebanon. Al Jazeera reported 9 strikes carried out during the day in the towns of Yahmar Al-Shaqif, Toul, Showkin, and Kfar Reman. Simultaneously, media outlets affiliated with the Axis of Resistance, including Al Mayadeen, reported additional strikes in the areas of Zebdine, Zibqin, Aaba, Shaqra, Arab Salim, and the Kfar Joz area.
Reports of casualties
Media sources close to Hezbollah, including Al Mayadeen and the Shehab Agency, are reporting deaths and injuries as a result of the strikes. According to Al Mayadeen, two people were killed in a drone strike on the town of Zebdine in the Nabatieh district. Additionally, there were reports of dead and wounded in a strike on the town of Aaba, with Al Mayadeen noting that Israeli aircraft "targeted medics" while they were evacuating wounded in the Toul area.
Description of the strikes and methods
The reports emphasize the intensive use of unmanned aerial vehicles and artillery. Al Mayadeen detailed that Israeli artillery targeted "Nabatieh al-Fawqa, Kfar Tebnit, the Ali Taher heights, Al-Haniyeh, and Majdal Zoun." Some sources, including Palestine News 24, estimated that at least 13 targeted strikes were carried out during the day in the Nabatieh district alone.
The reports reflect a consistent narrative in regional media outlets that label the actions as "aggression of the occupation" (عدوان الاحتلال), while detailing the structural and human damage in the Lebanese villages.
