[109169] Norway warns of a humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and imposes sanctions on Israeli individuals and organizations
The Deputy Foreign Minister of Norway attacked Israel's policy in the Gaza Strip and announced that European countries have begun punitive measures against Israeli entities.
Norway hardens its tone: Demand for withdrawal and imposition of sanctions on Israel
In a series of harsh statements delivered to Al-Jazeera, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Norway presented a sharply critical position regarding Israeli conduct in the Gaza Strip. The Norwegian official accused Israel of preventing the entry of humanitarian aid and claimed that it is not meeting its obligations under international law.
According to him, Israel is "blocking everything necessary for a dignified life", which he claims has led to a severe humanitarian catastrophe in the Strip. The official emphasized that Norway, along with other European countries, has taken punitive measures against Israeli individuals and organizations as part of the international pressure being exerted on Jerusalem.
In addition, the Deputy Foreign Minister expressed deep concern over the lack of implementation of an organized peace plan and the non-withdrawal of IDF forces from the Strip. He clarified that Norway will continue "to act as much as it can with its partners in Europe and the region" to ensure the transfer of aid to the residents of Gaza.
These reports received wide coverage in Palestinian and Arab media, including Shehab Agency, Ghad News, Palestine Dialogue Network, and Radio Voice of Al-Quds, which presented his words as further evidence of the humanitarian crisis and Israel's growing international isolation.
