Update to Answer Keys for the Physics Baccalaureate Exam in Iraq

Following widespread public outcry among students and teachers, the examination committee of the Iraqi Ministry of Education has published new guidelines for grading the Grade 12 (scientific stream) physics baccalaureate exam. According to reports on the Telegram channels نيمار ابن الانبار and نيمار ابن الانبار || iraqedu, the changes were intended to correct an error that occurred in the original publication of the questions, which sparked intense criticism.

According to the update, the examination committee has determined that students will receive full credit in the event that the "lm" sign is not recorded. Additionally, it was decided that students who calculate the value of "Eind" (where the angle is considered to be zero) and derive the "Imax" based on it, will also receive a full grade for this section, which is worth 5 points.

The channel تجمع طلاب العراق confirmed these guidelines and added that this is an official solution intended to calm the pressure among exam takers. نيمار ابن الانبار || iraqedu emphasized that the move comes after a "major media shock" caused by ambiguity in the exam paper.

Meanwhile, the channel واحد العراق reported on additional leniencies, noting that regarding question 6, section A, students will not be penalized for errors in the final result of the velocity. However, the channel expressed protest from students who chose to postpone the exam to a later date, and questioned what will be the status of those who were forced to participate in other sessions in light of these changes.
