[97485] Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian visits Mashhad after returning from an official visit to Pakistan
Iranian President in Mashhad on the occasion of Tasu'a
Iranian President, Masoud Pezeshkian, arrived early Wednesday morning in the holy city of Mashhad, as part of his visit on the way back from an official visit to Pakistan. The visit was held under the banner of "Tasu'a night," which is marked on the Shiite calendar.
According to reports from several official media outlets and those affiliated with the Iranian establishment, President Pezeshkian prostrated and prayed at the holy shrine of Imam Reza. The reports appeared widely in channels identified with various political streams:
- Akharin Khabar News, a central news channel in Iran, noted that the President arrived in the city "coinciding with the night of Tasu'a."
- Hamian Pezeshkian Channel (Pezeshkian supporters) and Khabar-e-Fouri emphasized the visit itself as a major religious activity of the President.
- Even the Revolutionary Guards channel, the Iranian military body known for its hardline stance, covered the visit in a state and conservative tone, using phrasing that notes the President's arrival in the city "on his way back from Pakistan."
In addition, the Khorasan Online agency and the Ansar Allah organization (affiliated with the Houthis in Yemen) confirmed Pezeshkian's arrival in the city. The visit is described in all sources as a religious-ceremonial activity that combines returning from a diplomatic visit with Shiite religious traditions, with no reports of unusual or political events beyond the visit to the shrine.
