Iranian Parliament Speaker, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, set off today (June 24, 2026) for an official visit to Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. The purpose of the trip is to participate and deliver a speech at the 20th session of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC).

According to a report by the IRNA news agency (which reflects the Iranian institutional line, which sharply criticizes Israel and the US), Ghalibaf noted in a conversation with reporters before his departure that this is a "very suitable opportunity" to present Iran's position regarding the events of the last year to the other heads of parliament.

Ghalibaf emphasized that he intends to elaborate on the subject of "the two great wars, and especially the Ramadan War and its regional impacts." These remarks come against the backdrop of the growing tension in the region and the Iranian aspiration to enlist the organization's member states to its political positions.

The Danesh News Agency (SNN) (associated with students of the Revolutionary Guards) also confirmed Ghalibaf's departure, emphasizing the diplomatic importance of his participation in the international conference.
