A turbulent day for the Republican People's Party (CHP) in Turkey, with a series of personnel changes and resignations that shook the party's ranks on June 23, 2026. According to reports from Son Dakika Haberler Gündem, the party's chairmen in the Antalya and Kayseri provinces, Nail Kamacı and Ufuk Ozan Güzbaş, were dismissed from their positions. Hasan Şahin was appointed to replace them in Antalya and Okan Marzioglu in Kayseri.

At the same time, tension is growing within the party ranks. İhlas Haber Ajansı, a major Turkish news agency, confirmed that Güzbaş was not only dismissed but also referred to disciplinary proceedings. Further reports from Son Dakika Haberleri indicate that this is a broader process, as additional dismissals of provincial chairmen and the expulsion of at least two members of parliament from the party are expected, including Adnan Beker and Ümit Dikbayır.

Further drama was recorded with the official resignation of the member of parliament for Sakarya, Ümit Dikbayır, from the CHP. The resignation was confirmed by several sources, including GündemX and TGRT HABER. Journalist İsmail Saymaz, as reported in Son Dakika Haberleri, added that it is possible that the Mayor of Keçiören, who also resigned from the party, will join the ruling party (AKP) along with the Mayor of Nevşehir from the İYİ Party.

According to Gündem Haber, the party is expected to convene the High Disciplinary Committee on June 25 to discuss further expulsion requests, while party spokesperson Müslüm Sarı announced that the regular CHP convention process will begin this coming September, a step indicating significant internal reorganization.
