[95612] Iraq: Ministries of Education and Communications explore transition to a secure digital exam system
The Iraqi Ministries of Education and Communications are promoting a digital solution for the examination system
Iraqi Minister of Education, Abdul Karim Abtan Al-Jubouri, met with Minister of Communications, Mustafa Sanad, to discuss the establishment of an advanced technological system for managing, printing, and distributing exam questionnaires. According to the Iraqi Ministry of Education, the system is intended to replace traditional methods with a "highly protected, encrypted digital system," a step aimed at reducing reliance on manual procedures.
The plan includes the creation of a "broad and archived electronic question bank," which allows for the immediate printing of questionnaires at 7:00 AM on the day of the exam with a single click. According to قناة طلاب العراق الرسمية, the questionnaires will be distributed digitally to all exam centers via a secure network, which will eliminate the traditional need for disconnecting internet services across the country.
The Minister of Education emphasized that the project is essential for "ending the phenomenon of question leaks and strengthening the integrity of exams." It was further noted that the system will help reduce the human effort involved in securing and transporting envelopes, thereby reducing security risks. In addition to the Ministry of Education and قناة طلاب العراق الرسمية, the reports were conveyed by other major media outlets, including واحد عراق, נيمار ابن الانبار, جريدة الصباح العراقية and وكالة الأنباء العراقية (واع).
