[94802] Political conflict in Iran: Rashidi Koochi attacks MP Zohourian
Political tension in Tehran: Exchange of accusations in Parliament
A political storm is brewing in Iran following a sharp verbal confrontation between former MP Rashidi Koochi and current MP Zohourian. The confrontation centers on the functioning of the parliament and the connection of elected officials with the general public.
According to خبرفوری ࡆ اخبارفوری مذاکره ࡆ جنگ فوری and اخبارفوری خبرفوری جنگ امریکا حمله, which are Telegram channels dealing with Iranian current affairs, Rashidi Koochi responded to Zohourian's remarks with a stinging statement: "I am sure that even the government fleet drivers in parliament barely know you, not to mention the honorable Snapp driver!".
Rashidi Koochi further claimed that the Iranian public is "very happy about the closing of parliament" and that there is hope among the people for political agreements that will bring calm to daily life. In a provocative move, he invited Zohourian, similar to a similar call he previously directed at MP Rasaei, "to go out to the streets to know what the public really thinks."
These sources, which often present a critical line toward the conservative echelon in the Iranian establishment, highlight the gap between the official statements of members of parliament and the public's perception of their performance.
