Developments on the Lebanese front: Partial withdrawal and discussions on the transfer of responsibility

According to reports on Channel 12, Israeli security officials have been examining in recent days the possibility of transferring control to the Lebanese Army of a Hezbollah underground complex in the village of Kfar Tebnit in southern Lebanon. The move, which may arise in negotiations next Tuesday, is defined in Israel as a "test of the Lebanese Army's ability and motivation to act in an overt and unprecedented manner against Hezbollah," although security officials expressed skepticism due to the organization's history with Hezbollah.

Simultaneously, reports in Haaretz indicate that Israel and Lebanon will hold talks this week to define additional areas to be transferred to the responsibility of the Lebanese Army under American supervision, as part of a partial Israeli withdrawal from what is called the "Yellow Line." According to the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation, the IDF has initiated a reduction of forces and the lifting of restrictions on "confrontation lines" at the request of the Trump administration, which aims to reduce the depth of the Yellow Line.

Sources identified with the pro-Iranian line and the Axis of Resistance, such as Ansar Allah Yemen, emphasized the beginning of the withdrawal and the lifting of military restrictions, while noting American involvement in pressuring Israel. On the other hand, Channel 12 reports that Israel's threshold conditions for withdrawal from southern Lebanon include the transfer of Hezbollah forces to the north of the Litani River, the dismantling of their infrastructure in the south, and the guarantee of full military freedom of action for the IDF.

Meanwhile, the IDF Spokesperson exposed a tunnel over 200 meters long in the Majdal Zoun area, which includes 12 rooms, launchers, and large quantities of weapons. This complex is a primary target for destruction, but activity inside it has been delayed due to ceasefire negotiation efforts mediated by the US and Iran.
