[93599] Extreme heatwave in Europe; Ukraine records high temperatures accompanied by rain forecasts
Heatwave in Europe and the weather forecast in Ukraine
While Western Europe, and especially France and Spain, is preparing for an extreme heatwave that will reach temperatures of over 40 degrees Celsius, meteorological services in Ukraine clarify that this wave is not expected to reach the country. According to reports from Лачен пише and СУСПІЛЬНЕ НОВИНИ, most European countries are expected to suffer from the heat, with the exception of the Scandinavia region.
In Ukraine itself, high temperatures were recorded on June 21, with the УкрГмЦ reporting highs of up to 33 degrees Celsius in various regions. At the same time, social media channels such as Україна Online and Україна UA reported an unusual heat load in Lviv, where "in the sun, the temperature rose to +52 degrees," a figure indicating the intensity of direct radiation.
Despite the local heat, forecasts for the rest of the week indicate a turnaround. According to the UA Stream channel, starting from June 22, rain and thunderstorms are expected in most parts of the country, except for the south and southeast. Also in the capital Kyiv, as noted by СУСПІЛЬНЕ НОВИНИ, "short rain and thunderstorms" are expected on Sunday alongside milder temperatures of about 30 degrees.
In summary, while the European meteorological system is experiencing an extreme anomaly, Ukraine is enjoying weather defined as more summery and comfortable, with a combination of local high temperatures and atmospheric activity that will bring precipitation to most districts as early as the beginning of the work week.
