Progress in international contacts: Iran and Pakistan report a positive path
On June 21, 2026, official sources in Iran and Pakistan reported significant progress in political and security coordination between the countries. Al Jazeera cited the Iranian Interior Minister, Eskandar Momeni, who stated that "matters are proceeding well and we are moving in the right direction".
At the same time, Al Mayadeen | Breaking, a channel affiliated with the Axis of Resistance, reported that the Pakistani Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, expressed optimism regarding the upcoming talks in Switzerland, noting that "the files have been placed on the right track".
These statements were further reinforced by Al Mayadeen Channel, which reported that Momeni confirmed that "negotiations will be renewed for the purpose of implementing the articles of the memorandum of understanding" and added that, in his view, the path is positive. Mohsin Naqvi added in a separate quote that he hopes that "the sessions in Switzerland will be useful".
On the internal-political front, Kul Al Arab Breaking News reported on remarks by the Iranian President, according to which all articles of the memorandum of understanding serve Iranian interests. The President claimed in his conversation that the positions of the American President have undergone a significant change, and that in his latest speech, he acknowledged that a large portion of the issues are "the right of the Iranian people". The Iranian President further added that the late Supreme Leader had always clarified that Iran does not aspire to have nuclear weapons, this in response to Washington's demands on the subject.
