Restoration of rail connectivity: Moscow and Dushanbe are connected again
Starting today, June 21, 2026, direct train traffic on the Moscow-Dushanbe line resumes following a six-year hiatus. According to the Telegram channel 'Новости Москвы', known for its distinct pro-Russian stance, this is a significant milestone in international transportation between the two countries.
According to the report by Новости Москвы, train No. 423/424 will operate on a regular schedule: the train from Dushanbe will depart every Sunday and arrive at Paveletsky Station in Moscow on Wednesdays, while the departure from Moscow will take place every Thursday.
The news was also confirmed by the channel «Московская Хроника», which presents a similar editorial line in its coverage. The channel emphasized that "the first of the journeys set off on June 21," thereby marking the return to routine for the strategic transport line that was severed years ago.
