The political system is preparing for the end of the current Knesset, as according to a report by Zirat HaHadashot, journalist Yossi Elituv estimates that the dissolution of the Knesset in the second and third readings is expected to take place as early as this week. According to the report, the emerging date for the elections is the 9th of Cheshvan, October 20, 2026.

Elituv noted that these are "not encouraging news for the Haredim," since, according to him, the three laws demanded by the Haredi party "will be buried deep alongside the enriched uranium," using a colorful expression indicating the failure of sectoral moves in this report.

Meanwhile, an internal legal struggle is being recorded within the ruling party. Knesset member David Bitan filed a petition this morning to the Likud tribunal demanding to prevent the establishment of the organizing committee and to hold primaries for the selection of the party list. According to Hadashot Bazman on Telegram, Bitan justified his petition by claiming that "it is impossible to deny tens of thousands of members their right to choose their representatives."

These moves point to significant instability in the political system, where on one hand stands the accelerated dissolution process of the Knesset, and on the other hand, attempts by senior figures in the Likud to ensure an internal democratic process despite the tight schedule.
