[92511] Deadly Russian attacks in Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions: Many killed and wounded
Escalation in Russian attacks in southern and central Ukraine
During the night of June 20-21, 2026, Ukraine experienced an intense wave of attacks by Russian forces. According to a report by Дніпро Оперативний 🇺🇦| Війна, the enemy carried out over 20 attacks using UAVs, artillery, and aerial bombs against three different districts in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
In the Nikopol district, according to Суспільне Дніפר, a 70-year-old woman was killed as a result of shelling that hit residential buildings and vehicles. Simultaneously, in the Synelnykove district, 9 to 10 people were reported wounded (according to data from СУСПІЛЬНЕ НОВИНИ), and heavy damage was caused to educational institutions, including a lyceum and a gymnasium, as well as more than 10 private homes. Дніпро Оперативний 🇺🇦| Війна notes that hits to civilian infrastructure were also recorded in the Kryvorizkyi district.
In a nearby sector, UA Stream reports a particularly difficult day in the Zaporizhzhia region, where about 50 settlements were attacked. According to this source, the toll in the region stands at five killed and 13 wounded among the local population.
The reports come from Ukrainian media outlets with a distinctly pro-Ukrainian orientation that emphasize the harm to civilians. While reports on the extent of the damage and casualties are largely consistent, there is slight variance in the figures for the wounded across different reports, but the consensus stands on increased Russian military activity against civilian infrastructure.
