On the morning of June 19, the city of Pavlohrad in the Dnipropetrovsk region was attacked by Russian forces using unmanned aerial vehicles, which were likely of the "Gerbera" model. According to reports from the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Administration, the attack hit a private residential area, causing the complete destruction of one house and damage to ten other houses.
The most tragic result of the attack is the death of an 8-year-old girl, identified in publications as a child named Alina. The Telegram channel Труха⚡️Дніпро reported that the girl was killed inside her home, while her family was affected: her mother was injured and her father was hospitalized in critical condition in the intensive care unit. Regional authorities updated that the total number of casualties rose to three, as in addition to the girl who passed away, a 48-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman required medical treatment.
Various Ukrainian sources, including Суспільне Дніпро and ТСН новини, emphasized that this was a deliberate attack against civilian infrastructure, using the term "terrorists" regarding the Russian side – a stance shared by most Ukrainian media outlets covering the event. The Pavlohrad City Council declared June 20 as an official day of mourning in the city in memory of the girl.
In addition to the security incident, a tragic criminal incident was reported in the city: the channel Дніпро Оперативний updated that a drunk driver hit a 5-year-old girl at a crosswalk, leading to her hospitalization in critical condition. The suspect was arrested by local authorities and is facing legal proceedings.
