Conversely, the Ukrainian Air Force reported the interception of 92 out of 99 Russian drones launched toward Ukrainian territory. According to reports by independent media outlets such as 'Meduza', the Russian strikes focused on energy infrastructure, including oil refining facilities, which raises concerns among the Russian population regarding a growing fuel crisis. It was reported that significant damage occurred within Ukraine in the cities of Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, and Sumy, while Radio Svoboda (which presents a critical position toward the Kremlin) confirmed that at least two people were killed in Kharkiv as a result of the bombings.
On the political front, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia, stated that "there are no more laws regarding Kyiv" and called for intensifying the Russian response. These remarks align with the official Russian narrative justifying extensive strikes against Ukrainian targets. In contrast, officials in the West and Ukraine condemn the intensity of the strikes.
Simultaneously, the TASS news agency reported on the advancement of Russian forces in the Kostiantynivka area and the battle for the city of Krasny Lyman. In Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy raised the level of tension with Belarus after demanding the removal of equipment that he claims assists Russian forces, as published in Украина.ру.
The international tension surrounding the war also continues in the American arena, as War Zone reported that American senators are promoting a bill that would allow the use of frozen Russian assets for the purpose of purchasing weapons for Ukraine, a move that could change the face of the campaign.
