A wave of arrests for corruption and crime in Turkey
Over the past day, intense police activity has been recorded in Turkey surrounding a series of criminal and financial cases. As reported by the Gündem Haber channel, the focus of the investigations is a large-scale probe in Zonguldak against a gynecologist, Dr. Ferhat T., who is suspected of running a network of "bribery and performing illegal abortions." According to the report, the doctor was caught "with a large sum of money" at the hospital where he worked, after demanding amounts ranging from 10,000 to 100,000 liras for medical procedures, while using forged records.
At the same time, in the municipal arena, it was reported on the Gündem Hattı channel that 5 senior officials in the Seferihisar Municipality, including the Deputy Mayor, were arrested for involvement in a bribery case related to real estate projects and urban planning. According to the report, the suspects are accused of "receiving unlawful benefits" in exchange for official approvals.
In the political and criminal sphere, Member of Parliament from the İYİ Party, Burhanettin Kocamaz, suffered a heavy blow after falling victim to a sophisticated fraud scheme. According to Gündem Haber, the suspect impersonated a police officer and robbed the member of 10 kilograms of gold, millions of liras, and additional foreign currency amounts, before being arrested inside a taxi in Istanbul.

- In Edirne, 6 suspects were arrested for criminal activity involving "usury" (tefecilik).
- In Zonguldak, a man was arrested for opening fire inside a bank branch after his house was foreclosed due to debts.
