A night of widespread air strikes in Ukraine: casualties and damage to homes in Kharkiv
Tonight (June 19, 2026), Ukraine was under a large-scale air attack. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russian forces used a variety of strike assets, including guided aerial bombs (KAB) and groups of attack drones, which were launched towards the Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Chernihiv, and Kyiv regions.
The hardest focus of the attack was in the Kholodnohirskyi district of Kharkiv. The Kharkiv Life Telegram channel reported that a guided bomb strike led to a fire and the injury of five people, including three minors – two 11-year-old girls and a 14-year-old boy – who suffered from acute stress reactions. According to the same source, the attack caused heavy damage to more than 40 private homes and storage facilities in the area.
In parallel to the fighting in Kharkiv, continued drone movement towards northern Ukraine was reported. The Ukrainian Air Force updated that unmanned aerial vehicles entered the airspace from the north and moved along the border towards Slavutych and the Kyiv region. Accordingly, air alerts were declared in the Kyiv region and the Vyshhorod district, as reported by local channels such as Київ ІНФО.
The security situation remained tense throughout the night and early morning hours. While in some areas, such as the Kryvyi Rih district, there were lulls and the lifting of alerts according to the Realny Dnepr channel, air alerts continued to accompany the residents of Kharkiv and Kyiv under the constant threat of further strikes by the Russian Air Force.
