As part of the official visit of German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier to Uzbekistan, the First Lady of Uzbekistan, Ziroat Mirziyoyeva, and the First Lady of Germany, Elke Büdenbender, held a series of official meetings in Tashkent. The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral ties in the areas of social welfare and education.

According to a report by Kun.uz, a news channel associated with the official government line in Uzbekistan, the parties discussed "developing inclusive education, creating equal opportunities for young people, and cooperation in the field of social protection".
