The IDF continues its structural change process for the Ground Forces, as this week Division 38 – the army's training division – conducted an assembly exercise, the first of its kind. The move comes as part of transforming the division into a force with multi-theater operational capabilities.
According to Nitzan Shapira on Telegram, who covers security news and demonstrates a line identified with positive stances toward the political and military echelon, extensive manpower utilization was carried out as part of the establishment of the new division. As a result, "over 1,000 reservists were assigned to staff, command, and operational support roles" according to Nitzan Shapira.
Division 38 gathers under its command all of the Ground Forces' training brigades. According to the news line, a media entity that sometimes presents a critical line toward the political echelon, the division centralizes the main training bases, including Bahad 1, BISLACH, Brigade 460 (Shizafon), BISLAT, the School of Combat Engineering, and the School of Field Intelligence.
During the exercise, most of the operational staff assemblies were activated for the first time, including the Operations Directorate (Agham), Intelligence, and C4I. According to the reports, the exercise was characterized by a "high attendance" of reservists alongside regular forces, a figure indicating increasing operational readiness as part of the adaptation of the Ground Forces to current challenges.
