During the G7 summit held today in France, President Donald Trump provided statements that were interpreted as a fundamental shift in American policy regarding the Iranian nuclear program. According to Lebanese News and Updates, Trump argued that "common sense" should be applied regarding Tehran's nuclear ambitions, stating: "It's tough when you have neighbors that have it and you don't allow them to have it for electricity and things like that."

The channel Middle East Spectator — MES, which is identified with critical positions toward the West and specifically toward American policy in the region, noted in its report that in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) recently signed, there is no commitment from Iran to stop uranium enrichment. According to the report, the absence of this commitment is "very significant."

The interpretation emerging from MES emphasizes that the official American position, as presented in the talks between Araghchi and Wittkoff, insisted on "zero enrichment" for a period of 10 to 20 years. The channel warns that an American willingness to allow low-level enrichment (about 3.67%) for civil purposes would constitute a "huge embarrassment for the United States."
