Ukrainian authorities ordered residents of Kyiv and Dnipro to head to shelters following air raid sirens that were triggered early this morning across the cities.
Widespread Air Raid Alerts in Ukraine
Overnight (June 18, 2026), air raid alerts were triggered in two major cities in Ukraine – Kyiv and Dnipro – following fears of aerial attacks.
According to КМДА – офіційний канал (a channel identified with the Kyiv City Administration and local government), an alarm was declared in the capital and an official directive was issued to the public: "Please proceed urgently to civil defense shelters!". The channel also provided a link to the city shelter map for residents to use. The message was also distributed by the channel ✙ Київ Оперативний | Kyiv Operative ✙, known for its rapid reports on operational and security events in the capital.
At the same time, reports were received of similar activity in Dnipro. According to ‼️СИРЕНА. ДНІПРО‼️, a channel dedicated to monitoring alerts in the city, an alarm was declared at 03:17 local time, with residents urged to stay in protected spaces immediately: "Attention! An alarm has been declared, everyone must enter shelters".
As of this time, the authorities have not detailed the exact nature of the threat, but the guidelines remain in effect as part of the standard security preparations in the country since the beginning of the fighting.
