Surge in Defense Production in Ukraine: Government Assistance Amounting to 9.8 Billion Hryvnia
Ukraine is reporting a significant boost in its local defense industry, following a government program to grant loans under favorable conditions to arms manufacturers. According to reports from the Minister of Economy and Deputy Prime Minister, Yulia Svyrydenko, 162 loan agreements have been signed to date for a total amount of 9.8 billion hryvnia.
The Times of Ukraine channel noted that this is a strategic move intended to empower the military's capabilities, and that "Russia will soon feel the consequences" of the increased pace of production. The channel, which maintains a clear pro-Kyiv and pro-war effort stance, emphasizes that the new funding constitutes a critical step for Ukraine's independence in the field of armament.
Technical details regarding the funding program were provided by the БДСН | Війна 2025 channel, which reports that defense companies can now raise up to 500 million hryvnia for a period of five years for production development, and up to 100 million hryvnia for a period of three years as working capital. Svyrydenko was quoted on БДСN as saying: "The results of providing easy loans to Ukrainian arms manufacturers are seen and felt by our enemy."
Similar reports were also published on the Україна Online and Україна Сьогодні channels, which highlighted the extensive state support for local production. It is evident that the sources, which are identified with pro-Ukrainian positions, view this step as proof of the government's efficiency in managing the war economy and improving the country's security resilience in the face of the Russian invasion.
