During scans conducted today, June 17, 2026, following a Russian attack on the Ukrainian capital, a dangerous explosive component was discovered in the Desnianskyi district. According to a report by the Реальний Київ | Украина channel, it involved the remains of a UAV that penetrated the city's airspace, carrying a live warhead that had not yet detonated.

The report states that the UAV was found in an open area, with experts identifying that the charge "could have exploded at any moment." Specialized bomb disposal teams operated at the scene to render the munition safe and removed it for controlled destruction.

At the same time, the Левый Берег Киев channel published an additional update on the matter, identifying the vehicle as a "Geran-2" model UAV. According to the channel, which is known for rapid local coverage and reports from scenes in the capital, it was a discovery that required immediate intervention by sappers due to the high risk of uncontrolled detonation of the warhead.

No casualties or property damage were reported as a result of the finding that remained in the open area following the attack.
