In the last 24 hours, Ukrainian news channels have reported an operational collapse at the Shehyni crossing point, where hundreds of passengers are stuck in queues lasting over 10 hours. According to reports, the crisis was caused by maintenance work on bus lanes on the Polish side, which limits traffic to only 8 buses every 12 hours.

According to Times of Ukraine and Realna Viina, the situation has reached a state of true "chaos," with many passengers reporting that they have been waiting since 01:00 AM. Due to severe fears of missing flights and connecting travel, passengers are being forced to "abandon their vehicles and cross the border on foot," as noted in the report by TSN.

At the same time, border authorities issued clarifications regarding the situation. According to Novyny.LIVE, the spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Svitlana Burda, confirmed that the work on the Polish side is expected to continue for a prolonged period, possibly even until November 2027. Police and security officials recommend that passengers check alternatives for less congested border crossings to avoid the heavy delays.
