Worsening political crisis: United Torah Judaism demands the dissolution of the Knesset
Peak tension within the coalition: United Torah Judaism chairman, MK Yitzhak Goldknopf, sharply attacked reports regarding new legislative initiatives on the subject of the Draft Law and attempts to split the bill, as reported on the Amit Segal channel.
In response to the publications, Goldknopf announced that his party no longer has confidence in the government's process. As published in The Hot News, Michael Shemesh, Hershkowitz & Grobeis - The Haredi Angle and Politics Updates, Goldknopf defined the recent attempts as "tricks and gimmicks intended to create headlines and spins, and nothing more."
According to Goldknopf, as quoted in News Arena: "What the government did not do in 4 years, it certainly will not do now." According to the reports, Goldknopf emphasized that in accordance with the directive of the Gedolei Yisrael, United Torah Judaism is expected to stand by its demand to bring a bill for the dissolution of the Knesset this coming Wednesday.
The sharp statements point to a deep crisis of trust between the Haredim and their coalition partners regarding the recruitment issue, with Goldknopf explicitly declaring: "We sobered up long ago and we have no trust."
