Conflicting reports in Iran on flight cancellations in the west of the country

The regional media system is in an uproar over reports of flight disruptions in western Iran. Tasnim News Agency announced yesterday that "flights from airports in the west of the country have been canceled until further notice," noting that the decision was made due to "current circumstances." Figures affiliated with the Axis of Resistance, such as journalist Abu Joud, linked this to expectations of an Iranian response "into the heart of the entity." Asharq Al-Awsat added that the move comes against the backdrop of Iranian statements regarding an imminent response to the attack in Dahiyeh, Beirut.

At the same time, a contradictory version developed within the official Iranian establishment. Mehr News Agency, citing the Civil Aviation Organization, denied that any official notice (NOTAM) had been issued imposing restrictions on the airspace. Spokespersons for the aviation authority, including Majid Akhavan as reported by Rudaw Arabia, claimed that no restrictions had been placed on flights in the country.

This confusion was also reflected in regional media reports. While Al-Mayadeen channel published both versions, Syria TV and Al Araby TV focused on reporting Tasnim's original flight cancellation report. As of this hour, no official clarification has been published by the government in Tehran that would resolve the contradiction between the news agency's announcement and the statements of the civil aviation authority.
