Russia has launched a massive, combined attack on Ukrainian cities, using dozens of UAVs, Iskander ballistic missiles, Zircon missiles, and cruise missiles, with an emphasis on damaging critical infrastructure.
Large-scale aerial attack on Ukraine
During the night between June 14 and 15, 2026, Ukraine experienced a widespread and combined wave of aerial attacks by Russia. According to reports from the Реальна Війна | Україна | Новини channel, the attack began with a massive launch of about 50 groups of "Shahed" explosive UAVs from five different directions. Monitoring sources estimated that this was a precursor to a large-scale combined attack.
Later in the night, local channels, including Україна Online: Новини | Політика, reported a transition to the use of heavy weaponry. According to reports, Russia used "Iskander-M" missiles, "X-101" and "Kalibr" cruise missiles, and even "Zircon" missiles launched at Kyiv and other cities such as Kharkiv and Dnipro. Україна Online noted that there was concern regarding the use of "Oreshnik" missiles, and that the primary targets included vital water infrastructure across the country.
Intelligence assessments circulated by Реальна Війна indicated the involvement of a fleet of strategic bombers, including at least four "Tu-95MS" aircraft and two "Tu-160s," which were spotted in the air during the night. The Bochkala_WAR channel described the situation as "hell" for the residents, who were required to remain in shelters due to the constant fear of another wave of ballistic attacks.
Monitoring experts cited in the Україна UA: Новини | Політика channel emphasized that the Russian aerial array included a potential launch capacity of about 700 UAVs of various types and up to 30 cruise missiles, along with the deployment of "MiG-31K" aircraft for launching hypersonic missiles. Reporters noted that due to the shortage of interceptor missiles for "Patriot" systems, dealing with ballistic targets is becoming particularly complex for Ukrainian air defense.
