[82943] Large-scale aerial attack on Kyiv: dozens of UAVs and missiles launched at the capital
A combined and intensive attack of missiles and UAVs struck Kyiv on June 14, leading to power outages in parts of the city and deep concern among residents.
Tense night in Kyiv: a combined aerial attack
During June 14, the capital of Ukraine faced an aerial attack of unusual intensity. According to reports on the Реальний Київ channel, the city was attacked simultaneously by 'Iskander-M' missiles, 'Zircon' missiles, and 'Shahed' type UAVs.
Ukrainian Telegram channels, which take a distinct pro-Ukrainian line, reported on continuous waves of attacks. Київ ІНФО noted that at least 15 UAVs were identified over the city in an early stage of the attack. Реальна Війна added that following the intense explosions, large parts of the city were disconnected from the power grid. Sources in this channel stated that at the peak of the attack, about 50 UAVs were recorded that penetrated Kyiv's airspace and flew at extremely low altitudes to evade defense systems.
At the same time, ОПЕРАТИВНИЙ ІНФОРМ reported on the identification of a jet UAV on its way to the Troieshchyna district. The Повітряна Тривога channel warned the capital's residents that there is a high probability of cruise missile launches in addition to the heavy UAV barrages that endangered all districts of the city.
Ukraine's air defense authorities worked throughout the night to intercept the threats, with information channels emphasizing the need for residents to remain in shelters given the combined attack, which is defined as unusual in its scope.
